Bought a SE beginning of the month and found that a small percentage of my calls are unintelligible because of static. Can’t seem to detect any pattern with which calls have static, doesn’t seem to relate to location of the call, using my car’s blue-tooth connection or whom I’m calling. Took it back to Apple, they couldn’t duplicate the problem and gave me another. Still getting static on some calls on the second phone but perhaps not as many. Not sure what the problem is.

Yikes! That’s a bummer. I have not had any issues with mine.

Are you on AT&T? I started getting some static on a small percentage of calls about a month ago on my iPhone 6S which I have had for about six months. No static before that. I am on AT&T. Disconnecting the call and calling back and the static is gone.It seems to be on the network. The caller could not hear it. I've had callers tell me they've heard the static too, and they were on Android phones, also on AT&T's network. They said they got it calling family who also had Android phones as well. Sounds like it's a carrier issue, not a phone issue.
