Very nice.

And now ... neener, neener! Nolan Ryan pitched 2 within 2 months. Woo! Hoo!

Still. Nice.

Nolan Ryan pitched 2 within 2 months.

Jake from Great Arm has pitched two no-hitters in his last eleven regular-season starts.

Yes and his first no-hitter was last August.

24 consecutive quality starts, 20-1. With an ERA under 1, and 2 no-hitters. His only loss was Cole Hamels no-hitter. Impressive run he is on.

This Cub team is amazing.

You feel as if they can win every game.

Everyone hits.

And Cole is on quite a roll as well. He’s won ten in a row going back to last year.

Johnny Vander Meer set a record which many think could never be broken.

Just imagine the odds. Johnny is the only pitcher to pitch two consecutive no hitters in the over 100 years of major league baseball. Even if someone equalled that feat, you just can’t imagine someone coming along and pitching 3 in a row.

Yes and his first no-hitter was last August.

At the end of August. Thus within the last two months of regular-season play.

Nolan Ryan
1. May 15, 1973
2. July 15, 1973

Jake Arrieta
1. August 30, 2015
2. April 20, 2016

I was just having some good, clean, competitive fun. I wasn’t belittling Jake’s accomplishment. Take it easy.

So Vander Meer had the closest two no-hitters; Nolan Ryan must be second-closest. Is Arrietta 3rd-closest? I think Virgil Trucks had two no-hitters in one season and Carl Erskine did that also.
