I saw that. It’s a clear affirmative action requirement that will disadvantage whites relative to blacks. But, it does not mean that whites are completely excluded from the job market.
We have, or are developing, similar diversity requirements in the USA.
I agree they suck.. I prefer a meritocracy to a racial spoils system.
I also read the article; it appears to be a policy of Affirmative Action on steroids. White the act itself does not drive whites out of the labor market, it is clearly a step in that direction and toward that endgame goal.
Liberals like to tout the South African Constitution as a model for what they call “positive rights,” but what I believe are better called “collective rights.” They are not prohibitions on what the government can do to you, but rather what it is theoretically supposed to do for you. Such “rights” as the rights to education, housing, employment and health care. What liberals don’t like to mention is that these provisions of the South African constitution were cut and pasted from the constitution of the USSR. Which is understandable, since the ANC are all Soviet communists.
