Remember that little story? On March 28th of this year, a scene between two students at San Francisco State University went viral overnight. Corey Goldstein, an student, was walking through the corridors on his way to the next class, when he was confronted by Bonita Tindle, a girl he had seen but didn't know. Bonita didn't like that Corey, a young man of jewish ancestry, had chosen to style his long brown hair into dreadlocks. Somehow, Bonits had it in her mind that dreadlocks were the exclusive province of black people to wear.
Her thought was anyone not black or as she put it 'Egyptian', was 'stealing from her culture'. Bonita grabbed Corey's arm and blocked his path to prevent him from ignoring her. Naturally, Corey protested, this intrusion, repeatedly. This entire little scene was filmed by another student who never appears in the video. The heat got so bad on Bonita, that she had to move out of where she was living at the time. There was an online petition by other students to get her expelled for acting like a bully.
I've heard nothing since early April. Is she still a student at SFSU? Has any discipline been administered? I'm not on Facebook, so I can't check myself.
She needs to be in jail for a hate crime.

Their hair looks like lice condos.
The dreadlocks look itself is very tacky and unclean looking. This is true. It may surprise you how many college kids want to walk around looking like Bob Marley but with a mouth full of braces. The main difference being that unlike a real Rastafarian, the student’s marijuana is a ‘prescription’ for a particular ailment.

Clean hair is shiny.
Dreads are always dull, dusty, greasy and mangy looking.
Why anyone would want that ‘effect’ is beyond me.
I never cared for Komondor or Puli dogs, for the same reason.
You could not force me to touch dreads.
Few years ago we had a Republican election headquarters office next door to a dentist’s office in Houston suburbs. Dentist drove a new Mercedes. Steady stream of kids went in all day long. Most of them had braces and appeared to be Hispanic. Had a toothache one morning so stopped in there to see if the dentist could do anything for me. There were three gals working at the check-in desk and the waiting room was already full. Turns out they only saw kids who had Texas Medicaid coverage so referred me elsewhere.
Great racket.

I don’t care if he had ugly dreads or not, but who is she to condemn emulating another’s culture??? Beyonce’s hair is what color? And smoothed and straightened, hmmmm??????????

Then she did become a success during her later life. Shows the importance of the college experience.

My guess is she turned her life around and is doing cancer research at Johns Hopkins.
I’ve known a number of white men with dreds. I’ve also known a number of black women with straight blond hair.

Don’t forget the stench. When my nephew was in his late teens and looking for an
identity he became a Muslim- Rastafarian- dumbass dopehead, with
dreadlocks. Pee yew, they don’t wash them AND my sister found BUGS on his
pillowcase after he “crashed, mon” at her house for a night.
Really disgusting. He finally cut and BURIED them. Hahaha.
