I meant when he was VP. In the 1950s he was remorseful about the excesses of Stalin and regretted his earlier praise of Russia. Plus I think he was influenced by public opinion in the 50s and felt the need to deflect. By the way, check out his religious journey. He was New Age before it was cool.

Yeah, he followed a guru who was later exposed as a con artist. That episode could be made into a comedy movie.

In 1944, when Wallace was still in his pro-commie phase, he lead a delegation to Siberia on their way to China. He was given a tour of Magadan, the rotten heart of the Gulag, and was completely duped. He wrote glowingly about the Gulag, saying it was a combination of the TVA and Hudson's Bay Company.

It was a darn good thing Harry Truman became President in 1945 and not Wallace.
