Something else to consider is "Over-the-Air" OTA network transmission, which is free HD. The "Antenna Web" website will show you what stations you can get (for free) at a given address. Go to: http://www.antennaweb.org/Address and enter the address (or one close by) to learn what channels are available in the area in question.

You'll need to buy an antennae to pick up OTA channels.

I have this antenna in my attic: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MATVSGY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It gives me 16 free HD channels.

Just wanted you all to know what we decided on, finally. We will use the landline rural phone co to bring Internet. It isn’t very fast but it will do, without raising the phone bill too much (by $32 we will do sling.com for tv. It has to be a smart tv and it costs $60 at first, for the first three months. Thereafter, it is $19.99 as needed per 30 day period. Great for vacation homes, because you don’t have to pay when no one is up there.

This was a very informative thread. Thanks.
