Yup!
The old glass Coke bottles, mostly. Two cents for the 12 or 10 ounce size, a nickel for the bigger ones.
Me and my brother used to wander the streets in upstate NY and find tons of them! Literally!

Yeah, the hoop Coke bottles, ‘swirly’ RC cola, the green 7 Up bottle, Dr. Pepper with the clock face, Nehi orange and grape, Big Red, Mountain Dew with the mountain man on it—money just waiting to be picked up ...
But then we met nice girls, got jobs, started families and our wives made us stop.

The old glass Coke bottles, mostly. Growing up in Detroit, we had Faygo literally down Gratiot Ave. from us. But, we also had Vernor's Ginger Ale, and my parents owned an A&W restaurant close to us where we lived by Detroit City Airport. I remember the oppressively hot summer days when I used to walk over to the body shop that was two doors down for a ten cents apiece ice cold bottle of Pepsi out of their vending machine. That was supreme refreshment for a ten year old kid, back then.
