When Gen. Patreus was being investigated, Gen. Allen figured prominently. There wasn’t enough to prosecute him on but he retired in disgrace quickly and quietly. This jerk has no business slinging mud at anybody. I’ll bet any real Marine would like to slug him.

I just look at the situation. Team Obama/Clinton has the goods on him and have promised him a plum post if they limp across the finish line ahead of Trump.

Either way, he’s screwed. Trump is going to win big, and when the broom comes to sweep away the waste, fraud and abuse, General Allen will go quietly.

The Marine Corps isn’t immune to political General syndrome. In fact, as the Marine mission expanded beyond the littorals during OIF, and Marine Generals were considered for joint posts that were once exclusively Army or Air Force, I’m sure the opportunity for political corruption has blossomed.

As long as the NCOs, SNCOs and young officers have their hearts in the right place, the USMC will be ready to respond to real leadership. Left too long, it’s possible the Corps could rot from the head down, another important reason to vote Trump.
