I understand what you are saying, but the statement that “The Lord helps those who help themselves” is in no way implied or defined within Holy Scriptures. What is well defined is that The Lord helps those who can not help themselves beyond what is humanly possible.
We are fighting satanic enemies - prayer is the best defense.

A cute old saying, but not found in the Bible. It negates God’s omnipotence, grace, etc.
We don’t pray because it makes us “feel better”. We pray because God hears and answers prayers of His children if we ask in His name. We pray without ceasing, especially during this election, because we are facing blatant evil brought by Hillary, Obama, media, RINOs, etc. This won’t be a typical election.
And, we also must be pro-active in getting out the truth, as you suggest. Whatever is possible.
