Yeah, telling a tall tale about a night on the town where nobody was harmed and no crimes were committed certainly deserves some hard prison time! Up to 3 years, I’m told, is the max sentence for lying to a cop in Brazil. About nothing, as it happens.

There was no false police report or anything like that. As stupid as they are, their detention is actually more of an issue for me than any bogus holdup claims they made to the media.

You're an idiot, you'd send an American to a third world country to face charges that you know he will be found guilty on because that country is "pissed" off and embarrassed over their crime and appalling conditions?
