The world's first self-driving taxis will be picking up passengers in Singapore starting Thursday.

Select members of the public will be able to hail a free ride through their smartphones in taxis operated by nuTonomy, an autonomous vehicle software startup. While multiple companies, including Google and Volvo, have been testing self-driving cars on public roads for several years, nuTonomy says it will be the first to offer rides to the public. It will beat ride-hailing service Uber, which plans to offer rides in autonomous cars in Pittsburgh, by a few weeks.

It just seems so extraordinary.

When cancer still requires chemo or radiation in 2016.

I guess it’s apples and oranges.

It’s going to get expensive as these cars get stolen and stripped...

Cancer, and other ills requires chemo or radiation in 2016 because there is lots of money to be made. My neighbor’s dog, a huge doberman, had all sorts of knee, hip problems. He would not get off the floor. Two weeks ago he had stem cell therapy, and today he is running around like a pup. We are all being played...big time. The stem cells came from the dogs stomach lining.

Money to be made in the cancer industry. The longer the treatment, the more money changes hands. Welcome to profit maximization.

Self driving cars/taxis are obvious. Cost cutting measures. No more drivers on strike. Welcome to the future.

As I wrote earlier, plus, it applies to me as well:

"My neighbor drives 28-hours straight between his two homes. Driverless could be a lifesaver!"

;)

I don’t like those tiny little cars. The Uber version seems a lot nicer. All that gear on top looks like some kind of futuristic weapons array.

If they deploy any of those self-driving cars to south Texas, the maintenance guys are going to spend a lot of time cleaning love bugs from the camera lenses during springtime.
