“Red-faced and downhearted, paleontologists are growing convinced that they have been snookered by a bit of fossil fakery from China. The “feathered dinosaur” specimen that they recently unveiled to much fanfare apparently combines the tail of a dinosaur with the body of a bird, they say. “It’s the craziest thing I’ve ever been involved with in my career,” says paleontologist Philip J. Currie of the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology in Drumheller, Alberta.1”

Son of a gun! Look who discovered that the fossil is a combination of two unrelated fossils - a forgery. He is a scientist. Just like a counterfeit bill, they made the fake look as much like the real thing as possible. Just like the counterfeit bill, the fake doesn’t disprove the real thing.

It didn't look like any real thing. A counterfeit bill is intended to look like something that actually exists. Therefore that analogy makes no sense.

Therefore, your statement that it doesn't disprove the real thing makes no sense.
