I’m monitoring what people are saying here and other places and its disturbing, making me think there is real coup attempt underway to take down Trump.

Coup is exactly the right word. The only difference between what the media and political establishment are doing and a military coup in a banana republic is the tools being used.
Nothing Trump has said or done in this election would have been an issue for a second if someone THEY wanted was doing it. No amount of good behavior on Trump’s part would help. If there was no real misstep they would just make something up.
The truth of the old saw “If voting mattered they wouldn’t let you do it” is more and more obviously true every day. This election marks the end of meaningful democracy in America if Hillary Clinton wins.
