Last month's Windows 7 update spent 20 hours at 0% progress on my machine

I got the exact same problem. Did you find a way to get the updates, or did you give up?

After 20 hours, it finally updated.

One more thing: I had to adjust the machine's power-saver options so that it could run overnight without going into sleep mode.
