Without saying any words, Hillary Clinton sent a message to voters the moment she walked onto the stage at Wednesday night's presidential debate in Las Vegas.
Or rather the Democratic presidential candidate's white Ralph Lauren pantsuit sent the message.
Clinton has worn Ralph Lauren's designs often since kicking off her campaign. For example, she wore a cobalt blue Ralph Lauren suit for the campaign's opening rally last year in New York City.
But it's her choice of color -- not designer -- that's significant.
"The choice of a white suit for Wednesdays debate harkened back to the not-so-distant past, when suffragettes wore white to promote their struggle to gain the right to vote," Booth Moore, senior fashion editor for The Hollywood Reporter and Pret-a-Reporter, told ABC News moments after Clinton took to the debate stage at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

The White Dress of Surrender.
Looked like a glass of Milk of Magnesia
I thought she was wearing white to imply that she’s pure, innocent, and virginal.
I thought it represented a clean canvas on which he followers can look forward to soiling
The not so distant past??? When suffragettes marched?? Over 100 years ago is the not so distant past???
Did anyone else besides this writer make this connection? If you have to explain the symbolism of something, did your effort at symbolism really affect anyone? Sort of like, if you tell a joke nobody gets it and you have to explain it, was it really funny?
I think she is signaling that she’s a dike. Ellen Degenerate wears the same model...
Sort of. I did reach for my bottle of Milk of Magnesia.
:innocent blink:
But, but, when Melania Trump wore white they said it was a symbol of white supremacy...I’m so confused.
I prefer black and white stripes or the orange jumpsuit.
Nah, Hillary’s team were ready for the poor overhead lighting of that FOXMegyn stage.
They stuck her in the most blindly reflective color on the planet to combat the dull lighting.
TRUMP was made to appear washed out. Her hair highlights reflected the lights. For the first time, his hair did not reflect light. He appeared colorless, maybe pale.
Or else, he skipped make up, but there was a visible difference in the two cameras trained on each candidate.
I thought she was wearing white to show support for the KKK.
The color she’ll leave the country after she’s bled us dry.
Really, I thought it represented her purity, chastity and honesty?
(barf)
And not menstruating.
Thread winner!
