I’m sure whatever damage that could be done has already occurred, any voter with half a brain will be very reluctant to help elect a president almost certain to be heading directly to impeachment in her first year. And any voter without half a brain is no doubt part of her base of support anyway.

The only change that would take place if even more information hit the news would be that the news media themselves would change their tone (this has already happened to a minor extent). I don’t think there are very many undecided voters at this point, further information could suppress the Clinton turnout however.

I think the interview with Chaffetz yesterday would underscore the belief that wavering voters are about to place reluctant votes for Trump; his message was pretty clear, in terms of “I do not feel very good about things Donald Trump has said but I still find him to be the only possible choice to stop the absolute evil of Hillary Clinton.” While that may not excite partisan Trump supporters, it is the sort of message that will reach the type of voters still available to form a Trump majority. Same goes for Cruz and his somewhat lukewarm support, it sends a signal to another holdout group that this is the only choice. These are all good developments, at this point, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Loyalty issues can wait for the aftermath.
