Thanks. If I hide HD channels, won’t it also hide the channels actually working?
What’s TV? Heh...
My system hasn’t been able to download updated scheduling, but DirecTV says the problem is on their end, and they’re working on it. AFAIK, I’ve had no problems getting FNC. I’m looking at it right now. As far as CNN is concerned, I wouldn’t know. CNN and MSNBC have been deleted from my channel lineup for years.
Well, i dont really get my news off the web either, unless it’s rightwing.
OANN.com is either down or being blocked on my AT&T phone. Anyone else?
I have Direct TV and could not pay them on the Internet last week. I had to call them and give them a CC. They told me they were having problems and that was last week.
Thank you again. FNC is back up ... now that Shepard (uber liberal) Smith is on.
FINALLY reached Directv by Chat and they are saying that the satellite that handles HD channels and local channels for many areas was seriously damaged by space debris and they are working hard to find work-arounds to the damaged portions of the satellites.
With 40 years in computers from hardware & software design to finished product, I am personally convinced they may NOT be able to do a fix and may need a new satellite - which would probably take many months if not over a year. They just can’t send a space repairman up to fix it.
They may have a new satellite ready for launch and a place on a launch rocket in position that they could re-configure to replace the damaged satellite, but I don’t think that is likely.
So those of us who have lost HD on certain channels, including local ones, may be without them for some time, IMHO.
I personally cannot rule out a major hack of their systems, with the satellite narrative being a good cover story. But I have no evidence of that other than the increasingly fragile world of networks that we have today with hundreds if not thousands of genius hackers - including those employed by major governments.
Only God knows what the true situation is.
But be prepared for going without your HD for some time.......
