National right to carry would be awesome. No longer could D.C., NY, Chicago, San Francisco and the rest of the gun banning cabal could abuse the Second Amendment rights of their people.

I am a huge supporter of States Rights and the 10th Amendment and I hate to see the Federal government tyrannize the states in any way, but the Second Amendment is a flat out right guaranteed by the Constitution and should apply to EVERY US citizen EVERYWHERE. It is not as if Chicago or NY can simply nullify your right to a speedy trial or against self-incrimination just because they are a state government.

If Trump can achieve a national right to carry, my head will explode with joy and disbelief. And millions of liberal heads will explode all over this nation.

Please make this happen Mr. President. Please!

Enforce The Laws On The Books

I say throw out most of the laws in most of the books, the RTKBA shall not be infringed.

But with that said.... Im very happy a pro 2A patriot was elected as President and Im sure we are going to make positive steps in the right direction on this issue.

Here in CA we have a limited privilege handed out by a liberal gov’t. Getting worse and our only relief would be to the SCOTUS.

“...A driver’s license works in every state, so it’s common sense that a concealed carry permit should work in every state. If we can do that for driving – which is a privilege, not a right –then surely we can do that for concealed carry, which is a right, not a privilege. ...”

Excellent points, President-Elect Trump!

Good enough. I know its not popular here but I support national CC. I travel a lot and it is a pain to have to check constantly changing CC laws every time I drive through a state. My state has some reciprocity and FL/Ut gives additional but a National would also protect me in states like CA.

National right to carry in first 100 days, now that would be fantastic.

I'd love to see the Trump administration sue New York, California, D.C., et. al, to overturn their unconstitutional gun laws.

I am not what you could reasonably call a Trump fan, and there are a number of things that worry me about him, but if he follows through on this he has my ungrudging support. IMHO it should have been the FIRST Amendment, it is so important.

Contrarily, Hillary’s stand on the same subject is exactly why I not only couldn’t vote for her, but had to vote for the person who made the strongest argument for the 2nd Amendment. There were other people running that I would have preferred to vote for, but Trump had the clearest and best statement on this most important subject to me.

Democrats will rue the day they used Fedgov to FORCE the states to accept gay marriage. Now the die is cast, and the same technique can be used for any number of issues, like gun rights and sanctuary cities, to name a couple recent examples. Pass the popcorn.

The second amendment doesn’t “guarantee” anything. It merely recognizes we are born with the natural right to defend ourselves by any means necessary.
