So... what exactly was the problem with the letter?
I didn't read anything threatening in the excerpt posted.
And ignoring that it was accurately addressed ('to the members of a satanic cult', or whatever), if not sent by a Muslim, or leftist, it was nothing more than a crank letter written by someone venting their spleen.
Why are the police involved? The same police that didn't have time to go after the people who attacked Trump supporters when Trump went to San Jose a few months ago.

It's not very nice, but if there are no actual threats, then isn't this free speech? I mean... if someone sent a letter like this to the Klan, or Westboro Baptist Church, would there be an investigation? What about if it was sent to a synagogue? I bet Jews get this sort of thing all the time. Do the cops come running?

See, this is what bothers me... this mentality that certain thoughts are a crime. If there is no actual threat, just gloating about deportations... again, not very nice, but how is it a crime?

Since the letter was apparently copied, it will be easy to trace ownership of the letter. Most printers imbed a series of virtually invisible dots on the printed page which can be tied back to a unique serial number of the printer. It’s like the modern equivalent of identifying a typewriter by slight defects in the print keys.
Dollars to donuts this is a self-inflicted “hate crime”.
