“Pull. The. Plug.”

Xactly. When the internet was first invented, my kid was targeted. It’s all about the pecking order, going after whoever is perceived as weak. He could have simply joined the bullies to target other kids, then he would have been on the “cool” side.
Neither option is acceptable in my family. I just shut it down.
When one of the bullies started harassing him at school, I told him, deal with it, but you get one chance. Make it stick.
So when the bully called him a little chicken sh!t, my son cold cocked him. Kapow, on the ground. Got a 3 day suspension, but boy was I proud.
He had no problems after that.

As you see, I’m not the only one who thought it was as simple as going off social media.

But also note the many other replies that tell us it’s not as simple as that. Some poor kid who’s not on Face Book still has to deal with everyone else at school who is.

But I do believe social media is damaging our kids. They sit around all day texting, Pinteresting, Skyping, Snap Chatting, Instagramming, etc. and they never even talk to one another.

They really should call this stuff ANTI Social Media.

And this anti social behavior is destructive. Case in point is this poor kid who killed herself.
