Crooked Hilllary At Bat (Ode to the 2016 Election)
The outlook wasn't brilliant for Donald Trump that day;
most pollsters said he couldn’t win, #NeverTrumpers hoped the same
Just drop out, it’s not too late. Jeb or Rubio might still win!
Trump just responded with a shout “Make America Great Again”.
And then the debate time rolled around and voters tuned in and stared
as Hillary stood upon that stage in haughty grandeur there.
“Trumped up Trickle Down” she called it, the audience just scratched their heads
"Such a Nasty Women," declared Trump.
"Let’s move on," the moderator said.
From the depths of the Clinton dirty trick department an old video tape arose
Trump talking about grabbing women, and not just by their toes.
"Kill him! Kill the misogynist! “Came the angry women studies majors yell,
and it's likely they could have killed him with just their unwashed body smell.
As a creepy smile of impending victory spread across Hillary’s wrinkled face;
Bill was interviewing interns. Chelsea measuring drapes.
The New York Times said “It’s over”, the Washington Post said “She’ll win”
Then out of nowhere Director Comey said “We’re Investigating Again.”
"Fraud!" cried the party sycophants, and the media was shaken to the core
But one unspoken threat from Hillary and Comey reversed himself once more.
On election eve her face grew stern and cold, as she stumbled off her plane,
was she drunk or was she having another aneurysm in her brain?
The fake smile is gone from Hillary’s lip, her teeth are clenched in hate;
As she prepares her victory speech and plans to celebrate.
And now the voters head to the polls, and now the ballots trickle in,
and now the breaking news, the reporters say who’ll win….
In a quiet Whitehouse corner Michelle sits and softly weeps.
Barack turns off the news in disbelief, hangs his head in sheer defeat.
Biden curses, kicks a desk and says, “I’m going home to bed.”
Valerie Jarrett yells, “We’re in trouble guys, we have documents to shred!”
Oh, somewhere in this favored land , Trump is smiling bright;
a solider stands tall somewhere, and conservative hearts are light,
and somewhere patriots are laughing, and red state children shout;
but there is no joy in DC — crooked Hillary has struck out.
