Here is a link to a "Republicans For Immigration Reform" letter signed by Pudzer:

Now, the article elaborates on what his role would be with regards to immigration:
Because unauthorized immigrants often work in low-wage industries and are often paid less than minimum wage, for example, theres an argument that Department of Labor wage investigations are an indirect way of enforcing immigration law and its certainly possible that a secretary of labor could make that indirect way more direct by targeting companies known to employ unauthorized workers. (Department of Labor offices have also been known to assist DHS and US attorneys in investigations against companies for hiring illegal workers.)
Arguably even more important, though, is the role Labor plays in regulating legal immigration through work visas. The Department of Labor is responsible for certifying that employers who want to hire foreign workers are complying with federal law that theyre making an effort to recruit Americans first, for example, and not just using work visas as a way to pay workers less than theyd have to pay US citizens.
Perhaps Trump worked this out with him, but if they differ, I personally would not want to be arguing with my own Cabinet.
There is a good point. Per Mickey Kaus, he does support universal e-verify, so there is that.
Some of Trump's Cabinet picks have shocked me. I thought for sure Christie would be rewarded for his loyalty (his approval rating is dismal) as well as Guiliani, Huckabee, and Sheriff Clark with roles in the Administration. Maybe they will get something as Giuliani is still in the running of SOS, but I don't know. I could have seen Guiliani behind head of Homeland Security.
Trump will be the CIC.
When policy goes south, I’ll comment.
Until then I won’t speculate.
This guy works for Trump. Trump calls the shots. I’m sure they talked.
And Dept of Labor has nothing to do with creation or enforcement of Immigration policy so once again a case of a Click bait Media hysteric looking for something to whine about in order to get people to pay attention to them
Its a good thing he didnt pick him for secretary of immigration then.
All the Carl’s Jr. places around my neck of the woods use E-Verify when hiring.
Not sure if it’s a Company Policy or just the Franchise Operators Policy.
hahahah, they are really grasping at straws now. Shouldn’t that make them happy? I wonder if he’s going to sway Trump on illegals flooding across the border
What does the labor department (who I worked for for over 20 years) have to do directly with immigration enforcement?
Lol Vox...
I think each of those guys has an issue that turned off Trump. I hear that Rudy just campaigned too hard & seemed to want it too much. Clarke is a great guy but is a county sheriff—it might be too big a leap to put him in charge of a major fed department. Christie angered Trump by bringing in tok many lobbyists.
Proof positive that America has too damned many secretaries.
If there is one thing that, at least so far, I’m not worried about Trump backing off on, its immigration. If he goes back on that promise, I’ll say something. But naming this guy as Secretary of Labor doesn’t have anything to do with immigration. And to the extent that the DOL enforces ID check laws, I’m confident that he will do it and not try to undermine it. At least until I see otherwise.
There have been so many stories speculating about how Trump is going to backstab his supporters and go back on his promises. Its all just rumors and gossip at this point. I just ignore it. If I actually see him do something, I’ll comment, but I’m not going to get all worked up over the press or “conservative” blogs spreading baseless speculation.
Concern trolls continue to be very concerned. /sigh
BOOM!
?
I don't think he's the stupid or that he was lying to us. So we'll have to see how this plays out.
