This is also what makes U.S. foreign policy over the last 25 years so idiotic. The Bush administration should have been laughed out of existence once it allowed the post-Ba'athist Iraqi government to draft a new constitution in which Islam was established as the official state religion.
In fact, the U.S. has spent the better part of three decades propping up regimes all over the Middle East where Islam is the undisputed official religion of the state.

Moslems already have more rights in Israel than they do in any Moslem country. They can vote, hold office, etc.
Israel can be what it wants to be. No one has a Right to dictate to them otherwise.
