What can you say? Ford will do what is best for Ford, and the idea that reduced corporate taxes, fewer regs etc. making them more competitive is a win win.

For me, seeing “made in China” means it’s crappy.

Seeing, “made in America,” usually means it’s good.

There is an existing plant in Flat Rock, which they are adding onto or refurbishing. Mexico is a greenfield project, so it would be more expensive.

As an engineer who has built industrial facilities, that is typical for adding onto an existing site vs. building a new one from scratch.

The savings on what are called "utilities" are enormous. These are more than just electricity, gas and water like at your home, but also road development, a rail spur to get materials in and out, frequently steam for heating, fuel and gasoline storage, etc.

The win is especially important, because once these "utilities" are in, further expansion is easy. Now all the have in Mexico is an empty field.
