Macy’s says it is eliminating more than 10,000 jobs and plans to move forward with 68 store closures after a disappointing holiday shopping season. The department store chain also lowered its full-year earnings forecast.
The retailer said Wednesday that sales at its established stores fell 2.1 percent in November and December compared to the same period last year. Macy’s Inc. pointed to changing consumer behavior and said its performance reflects the challenges that are facing much of the retail industry.
As if to underscore that point, Kohl’s Corp. also reported disappointing holiday shopping numbers Wednesday. …

Cut my card up in August 2015 and never looked back.
To be fair, this is the FIRST time I did NO store shopping.
All online.
But then, I guess they should have done well online too.

Macy’s will have to become an online store at Amazon, and that’s it. But they can still have a parade if they want.
How could this be? Obama, Hillary and the media have been telling us what a great economy this is!

i use amazon as little as possible...if i see something i like on Amazon i will search for it on the internet to see if i can get the same if not a better deal...99% of the times i do...
as far as Macy’s is concerned- they actually have a well developed web site with some occasional great deals...
I use Amazon a lot. It bothers me because they, too, are liberal.
I avoid AMZ due to Bezos.
Trump’s fault.
I know my family and friends back in Chicago will be happy to hear this. They are still smarting from how Macy’s absorbed and renamed the old Marshall Field department store chain.
This was done to tie people to just their brand by making it impossible to easily comparison shop the same items.
I may just wear these out while looking at other stores for a brand I can cross-shop.
When they dumped Trump, I cut up my card. Will never shop Macy’s again.

Malls are where yoots riot.
This is what happens when you cater to a very limited and select group — they are only 2% of the population.
Exactly the same thing happened to JC Penney’s, five years ago.
Hey Macy's Buyers....there is a WHOLE WORLD of DESIGNERS and Manufacturers out there....BUT SOMETHING NICE so I CAN BUY SOMETHING NICE!!!
I used to buy Christmas gifts for our granddaughters at Macy’s each year; usually coats or something costy. Since Macy’s went liberal-political, I haven’t spent one dime there since. I also avoid walking through Macy’s (and Penneys) on my way to shop elsewhere at the mall.
As they did with the highly respected Rich's chain in Atlanta after they drove the Davison's chain into the ground.
