The National Symphony was practicing along the canal and needed protection from their critics?

Another reason to have the inauguration in a supersize location - a Hotel ballroom - with only the chief justice and a few invited guest.

Right now, if I were the Trump committee, I would request every single former special forces people that are willing, to volunteer to go on secrete surveillance around that city.

#20. “Sax and violins and videotapes”! That’s the DC way.

#8. Now you want to make a federal “CASE” out of these instruments. Oh the horror of it all!

However, we can play along with that.

Yep. IIRC, that’s how they got all the weapons and explosives to Beslan, where they killed all those Russian children. The cops, etc., have to really start ratcheting things up now, searching everything that even goes anywhere near the inaugural site, while keeping in mind this could be a planned attack on something else entirely.

LOL on a clear day (visibility) you can dive under the 14th Street bridge and find all sorts of lovely weapons. Fools playing at gangsta never throw far. Anacostia? More guns... But an awful chore to dive in that mess.

Trump is taking over, right? Many democrat loyalist bureaucrats will be leaving office, right? ATF guy has some leftover Fast & Furious pieces he doesn’t want found in his office closet so he borrows his son’s violin case and is seen by other participants who bring their wives buckets and what not to put their closet contents in.

The s/n’s are found to be obliterated, end of story and many mysteries fade away.

Gee, I love a good English tale.

Sounds like pre-positioned weapons caches - not very well stashed though if they can be hunted up that easy.

That’s the first thing that came to my mind. Pray for President Trump’s safety is all I can say.

They may have had an informant. The "hiker that found the weapons" may be a cover story.

Hopefully the find will disrupt the attack teams and cause them to abort their missions. Security teams must keep searching for weapons caches and safe houses.

Many plans are made. Most are never executed.

Maybe - but you'd think they'd kept it quiet under OPSEC without need of any cover story - with the possible exception that they had a compelling reason to deliberately feed such a story out.
