The Freewinds cruise ship is the Holy Grail for any dedicated Scientologist: a coveted destination where members can mingle with rich and powerful A-listers - for a price. Hollywood celebrities, such as Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Lisa Marie Presley and Kirstie Alley, and top-ranking management - most notably leader David Miscavige - have attended extravagant parties on Freewinds.

Partied? I thought Scientologists didn’t drink.

I’ll bet I can form my own religion and sucker people into joining it... L. Ron Hubbard already made that bet and he won.

Where is she getting a salary?

It was the hardest to believe that Greta is a scientologist. She seems actually intelligent.

Didn’t Bill Clinton’s administration approve this cult for “religious standing” at the IRS?

"Once Hubbard had transformed Dianetics into a religion, his next main goal was to be recognized by the IRS as a full tax-exempt religion. But this is not an easy process, and in the beginning, the IRS refused to grant Scientology the religious standing it required. Because of this, thousands of Scientologists filed 2,400 total lawsuits against IRS employees. This renewed pressure forced the IRS to concede and the commissioner granted them tax-exempt status in 1993."

Another Clinton debacle that needs to be reversed. ALL of Clinton's rulings, EOs, back channel dealings need a second look and reversed if they are harming the country. Trump should have a group perusing the daily goings-on of each day of the Clinton administration . . Motor-Voter for one. . put it All under the microscope. . for the good of the country.

Kirstie Alley is a scientologist? I find that very disappointing. She is a very brave conservative, and should be held in high regard. For her to associate with those cultists and frauds seems out of character.

They get people who dont have a strong bond with their family. The emotional need to belong can get even the strongest of us.

I like the song, never really listened to the lyrics much. Will search it out.

For a couple of years in the 1980s I would occasionally have cause to walk down Beacon St. in Boston, past the local HQ of Scientology.

Often a cute chirpy female would be out front on the sidewalk and say “Would you like to do a personality profile?”

I was tempted to go inside just to examine for myself what they how they were operating, what they said and did with such off-the-sidewalk arrivals, etc. I already had some sense of them as a sketchy cult so I did not have any genuine interest in them, but I was mildly curious.

However, I never did talk with them, I was a bit leery of them, simply imagining that they might drug people or do something to make them vulnerable to indoctrination. I didn’t have much concern that I was vulnerable, but it seemed like an unnecessary risk just to satisfy a little curiosity.

I do wonder how they suck people in.....

I think it was the guy who started the SLA who said “If you want to get rich, don’t start a business, start a religion”.

I'm not sure they "fall" for it.

I think those with that modicum somewhere along the line see the money making opportunity and just continue the hustle as if it is real.

AMWAY works because enough people buy the tapes, books and seminars to network enough product to keep the Ponzi feds off and generate millions for "believers"

To me, it's all sort of a "compounded interest"

L. Ron Hubbard took his science fiction novel turned it into Dianetics and formed a pseudo religion around it.

There are recordings of Hubbard himself saying how he could create a religion and make millions off of fools who believed it.

Yeah, read his stuff during my comparative religion class. Thanks for that though; pity those that have entered Scientology hadn’t read or investigated it before. People will check out cars and TV’s before buying but are willing to lose their eternal souls over a fake religion without investigation.

“walk down Beacon St. in Boston, past the local HQ of Scientology.”

Many moons ago, I read up on Scientology at Operation Clambake. Here: http://www.xenu.net/

They have that test on their site and the “correct” answers. It’s easy to memorize.

I then responded to probably that same chirpy female and walked in. I gave my birthday as January 24, 1986, which was somewhat absurd given my real age is much older. But I look very, very young (bright red hair) and have a beard, so people can’t tell my age, at all.

The date is important because it’s the day L Ron Hubbard died.

I gave the name Ronald Waterbury, Waterbury being Hubbard’s mother’s name. I made some comments to the effect that I was always interested because I had a distant relative involved in Scientology (all lies).

Of course, I aced the test. 100% correct.

They came back somewhat confused, saying I had done very well.

They then asked me a bunch of leading questions “are you unhappy about anything.” etc. Basically stuff to see if they have a crack to stick their knife in. Easy to spot.

I remained nonplussedly positive and claimed perfect health.

Various members of the SeaOrg there came and talked with me very excited. They promised “higher ups” would be calling me.

Alas, all contact info was fake.

Anyway, I am pretty sure they were convinced i was L Ron reborn. Solid amusement for 1.5 hours.

They do; they call it lawfare.

At least Scientology only uses brainwashing, not carbombing.

Wow haven’t thought of that.

Just looked it up and here is an interesting blog on this that details much more on the song and Sciencetology. I love the song very much but never understood it.

>> “Scientology is what Islam would have been...” <<

No, mormonism is the “scientology” branch of Islam.

The Shrine is the “A-listers.”

Yep, he did it by focusing on drug addicts, but he paid early with his life.

Wouldn’t want to be him come Great White Throne time!
