Microsoft joins Amazon in lawsuit over Trump's immigration ban ("Happy to testify" against it)

Tech companies are joining forces with the Washington state government to fight against Donald Trump’s recent immigration-related executive order. Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson filed a lawsuit today against Trump’s order, which bars legal immigrants and refugees from seven majority-Muslim countries from entering the US and bans Syrian refugees indefinitely.

Now, at least three tech companies — Microsoft, Amazon, and Expedia — are joining that legal fight. A Microsoft spokesman told Reuters that the company is providing information about the effect of the order in order to "be supportive." They also would "be happy to testify further if needed."

Both Amazon and Expedia are also preparing statements that demonstrate the order’s negative impact on their business. In an email to employees, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos wrote that the company’s legal team "has prepared a declaration of support for the Washington State Attorney General who will be filing suit against the order." They are considering other legal options, as well. Expedia hasn’t publicly released its statement but Ferguson cited the company’s help in a press release.

The lawsuit will attempt to prove the immigration ban is unconstitutional...

As a Windows user, I'm very sorry to see this, but it doesn't surprise me. Microsoft is just as Left-leaning as any of the Left-Coast tech companies.

These companies are firing the first shot before Trump does. So when Trump rolls out his plans like cutting H-1B or cutting government jobs they can say he is attacking them because they opposed him politically. Same thing going on at EPA, Park Service, etc. People who are going to get the Trump hammer dropped on them know it. Big time.

Microsoft, a company that has fired all its American customer support staff and hired Indians to replace them. It is killing Microsoft as a company.

Just think if there is another terrorist attack.

Recall after 9-1-1 hollywierd considered having the Oscars (?) at a military base. The snowflakes, who hate the military, were scared silly and were looking at the alpha males to protect them. The irony was not lost.

Next time the military should politely refuse.

Tech CEO: "And furthermore, this order by Trump willl ..."
Secretary: "excuse me sir, there's a call from china for you, they need you to set up more robust censorship"
Tech CEO:"Oh my god, I gotta get on that right away! please everyone, excuse me and I'll be back momentarily to explain how undemocratic Trump is!"

Intel, MS and Google are going to try and save their H1b Pakistani and Iranian software engineers.
I worked with a number at Intel.
The most dangerous co-workers I’ve ever experienced.

One asked where he could buy machine guns and had a ad demanding Iran have the Bomb hanging in his office.

Protected by HR so there was nothing you could do about it.

I’d be willing to bet, Intel has at least 250 radical Muslims working for them in the Oregon site alone.
Probably another 250 in Folsom.

How DO Iranians manage to secure H1B visas anyhow?
We have no diplomatic relations with their country.
No embassy there. So how are they applying?

I’m sooooo sorry that Microsoft can’t find enough American born and educated software folks that it will have a huge corporate crisis if a Somali national is delayed in arriving by 90-150 days.
