This instructor did well by starting the new student off with a .22 LR.

Whenever I start out new shooters, I always give them a weapon with only one round loaded for their first few shots.

After a few shots when they’re comfortable the noise and the recoil, and I see that they’re not going to drop the weapon when startled by the first shot, then I will give them a full magazine or cylinder for further shooting.

Agreed. He did not need his fingers inside the triggerguard to "help" her, either.
She is a grown-azz woman with more than sufficient strength to pull a trigger.
Insert a single round, take three steps back, allow the newbie to shoot, and let the joy of the first shot be theirs and theirs alone.
