Having attended WCU I’m spoiled for the mountains by Cashiers and Highlands, that’s where my mountain place would be. Nothing else like it, the climate, the waterfalls, all the granite dome balds. Love it.

Long Beach was always the Redneck Beach back in the day. Carolina Beach as well. We always went to Ocean Isle or North Myrtle. I really like Topsail. I really like two bridges off the island.

I go to Ocracoke every year now with the frat bros. I have a HS classmate that lives near New Bern in Bayboro, North Carolina. That would be nice/cheap if you were into the whole fishing/outdoor thing.

Have the Florida-ons driven the real estate market through the roof?
I went to App State. I vowed I would move back to the hills one day and did so in 1998.

Hey, rednecks at least know how to have fun, lol. As gorgeous as Emerald Isle is, it’s a little staid. Saving grace is being able to cross the bridge and hit the strip by Camp Lejeune, lol. You can have your cake and eat it too, don’t have to be in the middle of the rowdy to enjoy it at times, unlike neighboring Atlantic Beach on the other end of the island.

Well...I wouldn't come to Oklahoma.

We have F-10 twisters every spring...

We have chiggers the size of mice...and ticks the size of robins.

It's colder than a whore's heart in winter...and hotter than Marfa, TX in the summer.

And there ain't no homes here...built of wood. They are all aluminum.

It’s less the Floridiots and more Atlanta these days. Went through the roof and then some, you should see some of the places built before the 08 crash. Still hasn’t recovered, if you want and can afford grandeur there’s plenty to be had for a comparative song. Won’t last much longer though, building is starting to pick back up.

“South of Charlotte”... means South Carolina, out of the sphere of influence of the current mayor/feminazi incompetent that incouraged and aided the race rioting by black lives matter, instigated the municipal “bathroom neutrality for transgenders and homos” which caused the conservative legislature and former governor to draft HB2 to stop this urbanized trend, started in the city which was run by the former governor McCrory when he was mayor. A long way from the great Southern city it was— and blessings to those trying to keep the heritage against yankee-lib onslaught.

Kentucky was one of the few states where a majority of people ages 18-24 voted for Trump. That has to count for something.

You're right. Parts of Ohio are very nice.

I've spent some work assignments in southeastern Ohio—Marietta, New Concord, and Muskingum county, Zanesville, a few other places. Very pretty; it's part of Appalachia with rolling hills, and good people. I even saw oil wells actively pumping on farmland.

One time I was there right before the 2008 election. Sarah Palin was HUGELY popular. A Republican lady there told me they had run out of yard signs—it had never happened before.

I left NC 50 years ago. ‘Too many damn Yankees moving into NC and staying. However, if you do move to NC, stay away from the larger cities like Charlotte, Greensboro, Durham, Raleigh, etc.

Having lived in PA and OH, I’d have to say that PA outside of Pittsburgh and Philly is REALLY Conservative.

The old joke about how “Alabama lies in between” is pretty much true.

Ohio on the other hand has major urban areas scattered all over the place which are infested with Democrats. My birthplace of Columbus has become Detroit on the Olentangy.

Agree with both your observations (blue devil you left out NC State... heh hehe- an insurance agent once told me a car insuring was “the wrong color”— do need to choose sides in round ball. Cause really nobody plays real football here, not like in AL or FL or GA or SC..LOL).

The dem machine is aligned with big tobacco which is still run by Reynolds/Winston Salem. NC largest tobacco producer in the US (when they aren’t buying baccy from Zimbabwe plantations they gave over to mugabe— truth). Dem machine— impenetrable corrupt cronycrats (biggest employer is the STATE or the Fedgov/ EPA, military). Machine was broken by the homo-lobby for bathroom open access— and broken by the family religious white and black middle class church pastors, and.. the Bible, resulting in the first Republican controlled legislature since 1896. And delivered for Trump.

You are right about NC turning hard left. Consider SC instead.

You got it right. Those are the people who will still be around, one second after.

Country Boys Can Survive. Skin a buck, run a trot line— ain’t too many things these old boys cain’t do.

While all here are at it, check the motto of NC “To BE, Rather than to SEEM” (a reference to being between two primadonna states— history on the motto is a good read).

“A vale of humility between two mountains of conceit.” NC was regarded as backward, unenlightened, the “Rip Van Winkle State.” VA and SC were in turn regarded as insufferably arrogant.

My, how times have changed.

Yes indeed... what carpetbagging oligarchs post wbts brought with them, that and textiles now gone to Indonesia. Wonderful bunch, specially the elite bird hunters and barrier island plantation types who “think they know” Don’t know shiite and never will.

See: Mcaullife who, hopefully is going down, courtesy of Dana Boente.
