I thought the year of Jubilee was awhile back, but not 50 years. I’m gonna say about 15?

I think it was 1998 or 1999. Unless there are other jubilees, not just 50 years.

It is currently unclear when the Jewish Jubilee year actually occurs. It is not an obligation for Jews under today’s conditions.

A tentative date from a formula used by Maimonides puts the last Jubilee year as 2005.

Many Christians use their own calculations and name their own preferred dates as ‘Jubilees’.

The year 2017 is a multi-Jubilee year.
1. 50 years since the Jews retook Jerusalem.
2. 100 years since General Allenby took Jerusalem from the Turks.
3. 500 years since the Protestant Reformation

The Hebrew year is 5777. Seven in the number of completion.

According to John Hagee on Sunday, 1967 was a Jubilee year, so 2017 is, as well.

Is 2017 a jubilee year?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. No - 2017 is the Christian calendar.
2. No - Yovel (jubilee) isn’t observed and even if it were, it would only apply to a super select few people in the world.
3. No - ‘jubilee’ is just what’s popular among those who don’t live by the Jewish calendar and don’t understand the various cycles - ultimately to prove some ridiculous ‘prophecy.’
