Lights will flick off throughout the Twin Cities on Saturday night as civic leaders join a global movement to conserve energy.
During Earth Hour, iconic monuments such as Paris’ Eiffel Tower, London’s House of Parliament and New York’s Empire State Building will go dark when the clock strikes 8:30 p.m. local times. Minnesota’s State Capitol, along with dozens of other businesses and local institutions plan, to participate by shutting off all nonessential lighting for that hour.
For the event, billed as “the world’s largest voluntary action for the environment,” the cities of Minneapolis, St. Paul and Eden Prairie are encouraging residents to join the effort.

Oh boy, this caught me off guard. Time to run out and hang the Christmas lights for tonight.
If you live there, be careful driving around tonight. There are going to be a lot of loonies out there driving around without their lights on.
I love Human Achievement Hour. I turn on every electrical device I have and start the engines in all the cars and trucks.
I’ll crank up my air conditioner, turn everything I have that’s electric, just cuz this kind of crap pisses me off. Oh, BTW, I’ll wear my MAGA ht while I’m at it.
Will they be using their cell phones as search lights? Thought so.

Yep. I'll put on all the outside lights, every light I can burn inside, and I may even light all the fireplaces.
Maybe I'll even pull my car onto the driveway and leave the engine running ... with the lights burning.

The family cabin is up near McGregor - definitely a few decades behind things.
I was thinking, we should try to get these Liberal leaders to REALLY prove their alliance with the green socialist agenda. Have them shut down ALL the electricity on the grid for the entire state for the entire 24 hours of Earth Day. And with lots of promo on the radio and TV - “Re-Elect Mark Dayton (is he still Gov.?) and EVERY day will be Earth Day!”
I have an idea. Let’s celebrate earth millenium by shutting down the power, and all other services, to Washington DC permanently.
