Three would-be robbers were shot and killed Monday when an Oklahoma homeowner's son opened fire on them with an AR-15, authorities said.
Wagoner County sheriff's deputies were called to the home in Broken Arrow, southeast of Tulsa at around 12:30 p.m. local time. When they arrived, they found the three dead suspects and two uninjured residents.

General observation from reading articles about home invasion cases - 10% is out of nowhere, stranger events. The other 90% seem to be known to the homeowner, as in friends, or friend of a friend who come back for the reefer or jewelry or cash etc.
My own made up statistic, of course.

Comments on the local news in this area indicate there have been several day time home invasions with very similar MO. All hoodrats targeting nice neighborhood.
They sure can be better shots or at least great shots. Just this last week our daughter-in-law was hitting a one foot diameter target at 575 yards like it was 25 feet away. And to think that when they got married over 20 years ago she was a vegetarian.

One of the three “made his way out” to the driveway—so presumably wounded while still inside. There was a fourth person, a woman driving the getaway car, who surrendered to police afterwards. Probably the burglars expected there to be nobody home at 12:30 in the afternoon.

No so strange. Most burglaries are day time and 3 suspects are not unusual. In LA, they have whole crews that do this, complete with lookouts, communications etc.

I’m not saying the victim was not associated with the suspects, but the story didn’t go into that. So until I hear otherwise, not so strange.
This is Broken Arrow, where I grew up.
Charges won’t be happening even though one of the home invaders managed to get outside before bleeding out.
The deceased were 16, 17, and 18. Weapons recovered included a knife and brass knuckles. A 21 year old female getaway driver was also apprehended.
This should put an end to a string of home invasions that had been going on for a while.
Bet it slows down. Or stops.
