Why Trump should stand up for Syrian Muslims, should he stand up for Americans who voted for him? Did he say he is not interested in being the president of the world? He is just another George W Bush

I believe he’s doing more to help isis than the Syrian people on this deal.

I am not convinced the Syrian government launched the chemical weapons attack. Assad was winning big-time. I couldn’t think of enough motivation to use chemical weapons. Why would he draw the USA into his conflict to kill 80 or so people they could have easily killed with conventional weapons? Makes no sense.

I fear the Trump Score Card will soon start showing an appalling number of dead American servicemen.

I hate to say it but Trump is an idiot. The Lefties were right. I can't believe we might have been better off with Hillary. (Before you go calling me a troll, please check my posting history.)

Who is going to help the Christians and Jews along with the splinter religions group? Kick Assad out and ISIS will fill the vacuum. If a few thousand Christians and Jews are slaughtered by ISIS, who cares, right.

I honestly don’t give a damn about Syrian Muslim people. They are no friends of ours and I don’t see any reason to give them the time of day.

From the comments, it’s clear the Trump-haters on FR are coming out of the shadows.

If we have certainty that the Syrian military is responsible for the chemical attacks, then I’m fine with this.

This strike:

1) sends a message to the entire world that this president is not Obama, who drew a succession of “lines in the sand” as he moved backwards.

2) sends an important message to Chinese president Xi and Nork president Kim Jong-un: this is not the old Obama regime, we will deal with North Korea if necessary. For Xi, China’s militarization of the South China Sea is now problematic.

3) restores credibility to the notion that the US is the only remaining superpower.

4) disarms critics of Trump (temporarily) who insist he does Russia’s bidding: the Russians are shocked by this action. No Russians were lost since they were given short-term warning of the strike.

So, let me get this straight:

Trump comes to the rescue of civilians attacked with WMDs, that Susan Rice said the Obama admin had already collected, he kicks sand in Obama's face on the "Red Line" failure, he stuffs Putin by showing him that his revered S-300 missile system is useless against us, and he's able to look at Xi at the dinner table and say: "You take care of NoKo or we will."

And FReepers are bitching like a bunch of girls that got left home on prom night.

One reason I voted for Trump was to keep us out of Syria.

Think big picture people. This was a precision strike in response to Syrian use of chemical weapons on civilians after being repeatedly warned. Trump just put little hot head dictators around the globe on notice to behave because Daddy is home and the feckless punk is no longer in the White House.

In the long term this small, precision strike sends a huge message to wannabe trouble makers. In the long term this move will SAVE American lives. It’s truly not that hard to figure out. EVERY new president gets tested by the bad guys. Trump just passed his test with flying colors.

This was more of a messgage to North Korea than anything to do with Syria. Syria was convenient.
