Should have used duct tape. That’ll fix up anything.

Spokesman: These days, everyone's talking about the Hyundai, and the Yugo. Both nice cars, if you've got $3,000 or $4,000 to throw around. But, for those of us whose name doesn't happen to be Rockefeller, finally there's some good news - a car with a sticker price of $179. That's right, $179. The name of the car?
Adobe. The sassy new Mexican import that's made out of clay. German engineering and Mexican know-how helped create the first car to break the $200 barrier. At this price, you might not expect more than reliable transportation - but, brother, you get it! Extra features: like the custom contour seats, or the beverage-gripping dash. And the money you save isn't exactly small change!
Jingle:
"Hey, hey, we're Adobe!
The little car that's made out of clay!
We're gonna save you some money
that you can spend in some other way!
Hey, hey, we're Adobe!
Hey, hey, we're Adobe!
Adobe!"
Spokesman: Adobe. You can buy a cheaper car. But I wouldn't recommend it!
Announcer: Not approved for street use in some states. No warranty either expressed or implied. All sales final.

We used to use an old el camino as a pickup on the farm, we had to stick pieces of 2x4 between the coils of the springs because after using it to feed hay for a few months those car springs went kaput, never drove it out side of the farm though.
It was about 10x as rusty and beat up as the pic, thankfully the heater still worked in the winter

Back in 1968 I bought a $300 VW Beetle in Atlanta & drove it to California (yeah, I know, young & crazy).
A few months later it was in the shop for something and the mechanic called be back to the service bay. The front transmission mound was broken, so the previous owner had put a 2x4 block between the top of the trans and the bottom of the VW floorpan, then wrapped 3 strand guy wire with a turn buckle for tension to hold everything in place.
Hey, it worked! Plus, the VW REALLY cornered well!
(Ahhh, to be young and ignorant again...)

$481 seems large. Wonder what the other fines will total. CA has very expensive fines which basically bankrupt poor people.
