When I stopped buying papers, I stopped reading comics. My loss.
BC was always a favorite. Had/has good values.
Motley’s Crew. The comic with some neurotic penguin, the one with the kid that talked to his stuffed tiger, some of my favorites :)
Of course we all HATED Doonesbury.

Thank you. This cartoonist had a gift for putting things quickly but profoundly. His Easter cartoon is one of my all time favorites.

Calvin and Hobbes-my son’s favorite (and mine too).
A few years ago I purchased the complete set of Calvin
and Hobbes cartoons with a hard back binding for his
birthday. We love it. It was like buying an expensive
electric train set for him when he was two!

Still, It would be nice if they brought back Opus and Bill the Cat. They'd be good for this time like this.

The one I remember was a Good Friday cartoon. Four panels of solid color, no drawing. Left to right, white...light gray...dark gray...black.

Thanks for posting this:
One of our granddaughters was 6 years old. After the Good Friday service, she asked our priest what was good about Good Friday because Jesus was killed.
He waited until after the Easter Service and told her now she/we know why we call it Good Friday.

Thanks for the link on Johnny Hart.
He was ahead of the awakening of the muslim threat and how it stinks.
Another B.C. strip, which ran November 10, 2003, showed an outhouse with a traditional crescent, which a character entered with a vertical graphic "SLAM", only to ask, "Is it just me, or does it stink in here?" Critics including the Council on American-Islamic Relations claimed that the combination of the vertical bar and the "SLAM", as well as the crescent moons both in the sky and on the outhouse, made the strip a slur on Islam. Hart denied that it was anything but an outhouse joke.
Scott Adams seems to have the same ability to correctly analyze the current hate Trump regime.

My fav BC cartoon is a guy is on that one wheel deal, he sees a sign, ‘fork in the road’ as he turns to read the sign.....boom he runs into a real fork that was in the road.
