Mom furious after daughter implanted with dangerous contraception on school trip

TULSA, Oklahoma, April 12, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) — An Oklahoma mother allowed her daughter to go on an educational field trip only to have her return with a three-year chemical contraceptive implant inside her arm.

Langston Hughes Academy hosts an annual sex-ed class by Youth Services of Tulsa. When Miracle Foster's daughter wanted to learn more, she allowed her to visit the clinic.

But Youth Services of Tulsa is part of the Tulsa Area Teen Pregnancy Prevention Collaborative, whose PregNOT program began in 2010 with $1.5 million in tax funding from the Obama Health and Human Services' Office of Adolescent Health. Its stated goal is to reduce pregnancy among poor youth ages 11-19 via "youth-friendly" contraceptives.

The government agency surgically implanted the dangerous Norplant chemical birth control device inside Foster's daughter's arm, according to Foster.

Youth Services of Tulsa argued that they legally do not have to tell a parent when contraceptives are implanted inside schoolchildren. Title X allows for youth as young as age 12 to receive "birth control” — even abortifacient contraceptives — without a parent's consent.

The Academy principal also defended the action, saying the school merely transported teens to the clinic. Principal Rodney L. Clark released a statement saying "The student was well within her rights of Title X, which is a federal guideline that provides reduced-cost family planning services to persons of all reproductive age."

“I just feel like my rights as a parent were violated,” a distraught Foster told local Fox station KOKI. "I feel like the school is responsible. I think they should’ve given us more information, because like I said, I thought she was going to get information. … So, therefore, she could come back home and we could discuss what was best for my child.”

"I think that is something that a mother and a daughter should discuss," Foster said, weeping.

Youth Service of Tulsa has been in “partnership” with Langston Hughes Academy since 2013.

Church Militant asked Clark if parents were given an opt-out form to remove their children from the annual sex-ed class. Clark said an opt-out form was provided by Youth Services of Tulsa. But Foster said she never received an opt-out form. Instead, she said Clark called her for permission to allow her daughter to visit the clinic.

Youth Services of Tulsa refused to answer questions, but the receptionist said she didn't know of any opt-out form for parents.

Church Militant further pressed Clark regarding how his school made sure parents knew what was being taught in the sex-ed class and what would be conveyed in the trip to the clinic. "We put out a statement," Clark responded. "I'm really not going to answer any more questions in regard to that."

Foster said she has not only been offended as a parent but has been deeply hurt by the whole incident. "So many people are saying negative stuff," she said. "This has really taken a toll on me, seriously."

President Richard Nixon enacted Title X, which funds contraception for minorities and those in poverty, as part of the Public Health Service Act in 1970. By 2010, Title X was disbursing $317 million in tax dollars, with Planned Parenthood receiving $80 million. Nixon believed in the "population explosion" myth. His administration inaugurated the Commission on Population Growth.

Planned Parenthood has been criticized for targeting minorities and "undesirables," as founder Margaret Sanger called those she sought to sterilize. Foster is black.

This week, the Republican-led U.S. Congress passed a bill to allow states to redirect Title X funds away from Planned Parenthood.

Cassius Kamarampi of The Mind Unleashed commented, "The U.S. government has a long history of attempting to control the reproduction of citizens. … Because some powers seem to be obsessed with curbing population growth, lawmakers found it a priority to legalize children receiving contraceptives without parental permission."

"As a 21-year-old American who remembers sexual education in Texas, I know for a fact that they fear-monger about STDs, push vaccination for HPV, contraceptives, and anything else they can in these so called lessons," Kamarampi continued. "I can personally tell you that several people were coerced into getting contraceptive implants in sexual education at my middle school in central Texas, and highly dangerous Gardasil vaccines were pushed as well, in 2009. I saw young, impressionable peers receive a sales pitch, and fear-mongering about HPV."

The Norplant contraceptive implant has been connected to several health problems. Its chemical, Levonorgestrel, causes severe hormonal changes and cervical cysts. The implants have been known to dislodge and get lost in the woman's body, and in some cases cause permanent sterility.

Within six years of Norplant's 1990 FDA approval, more than 6,000 women filed complaints of "adverse medical consequences," including heavy bleeding and vision impairment. Some overseas women were bedridden for months, some literally went blind, and some died because population control officials refused to remove the implants.

Norplant was taken off the U.S. market in 2002, but manufacturer Wyeth-Ayerst continued to produce it with U.S. tax dollars for vulnerable poor women in Third World countries until 2006. A new manufacturer, Bayer Healthcare, has renamed the drug and contracted with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to manufacture and distribute it to international population control groups.

I’ve seen reports that school nurses will also take girls off campus to see an abortionist without notifying parents.

Parents have to sign for their kids to be taken to the zoo but not to the abortion clinic. Upside down world. What if the child were killed in an auto accident? What if the child had complications at the clinic or died? Remember TX Gov. Perry and his best buddy from Merck handing out HPV vaccines? After all the outrage, he claimed to have stopped it. Lie! He didn't. He send the school nurses vaccines and had them advertise it for FREE! Gotta get all the FREE! stuff you can get before you're left out.

This is animal husbandry by libs; they’ll never outlaw abortion because it is their solution to the ghetto problem (and this is just an extension of that policy).

Parental consent doesn’t even factor into these issues anymore; extended before- and after-care, coupled with “free” breakfast and lunch in schools (in NYC, free lunches are even offered in the summer), would indicate that liberals perceive the most dangerous place for a black child is home with his/her parent(s).

Population growth is the last generations global warming.

It began in previous generations (back in the late 60s, and really, even before that), but the agenda to restrict population growth (Muslims excluded) is still very much on the fore-front of the current leftist agenda.

When I was five we were given the Polio Vaccine at School.

A Doctor examined us and then we were given a Vaccine soaked Cube of Sugar. I remember it, but I can’t remember if the Sugar Cubes were Pink or Blue. 58 Years makes History blurry.

I “assume” my Parents were notified when this happened, but I never thought to ask them. I’ll never know.

That was what i was leading to

The hormone cycle actually helps some things

I think fibrous uterine growth for one and acne and early osteo issues

Reproductive cysts and PMS

but like I said not long term with smoking

They do tend to make girls more voluptuous
And lush hair

I can tell when a teen girl is on them

Young girls look so fertile just busting loose with a thin walled egg....

Scary as a father....I mean whew

No way this medical procedure should have taken place without the parents involved.

After the birth of my daughter and a miscarriage, my ex-wife did not want to go back on the pill. So her sister told her about the new shot they had that would last about 12 months. So we met with her doctor and he went over the drug and she got the shot. Well it turns out that one of the side effects was lack of sexual desire and agonizing pain in her lady parts during intercourse. My wife didn’t tell me about any of this and just shut down. We had no intimacy for almost a year and I began to accuse her of cheating on me until finally 1 day she told me the problems she was experiencing. When we went back to the doctor I told him of the agony she had and the stress it put on our marriage and he finally admitted that he neglected to tell us those side effects. It was all I could do to keep from punching him in the head.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

Whoever is behind this needs to be sued into oblivion.

I don’t think you have to drill down to whoever was behind this. I think you sue the teacher personally as well as in her capacity as teacher/sponsor, the school, the district, the State, the abortion-mill/birth control center, the maker of the implant and the personnel that administered the implantation.

A great use for a Go Fund Me page to hire lawyers working on a percentage fee.

I also think you start a media vendetta against those involved. Do their neighbors know that their children could be next? Do their parents know what they do in the course of their promotion? Does the public have enough pictures of them to be aware if they are nearby?

I had a (very conservative) relative get angry when I pointed that out. He didn’t believe me and said it wouldn’t be the case with his kids. They homeschool them through sixth grade then send them to public school for the remaining years.

The parents who do realize the danger of “in locus parentis” in increasingly godless public schools tend to homeschool their children.

“...they fear-monger about STDs, push vaccination for HPV, contraceptives, and anything else they can...”

My father was the most effective “fear monger” possible when it came to me understanding consequences of premarital sex. We didn’t need no stinkin’ birth control or vaccinations, as the promise of certain death was enough for us.

Regarding this particular story, I can’t even wrap my head around the thought that schools have this power that supersedes the parents’ control. I don’t have kids, so maybe I’ve been out of the loop of what’s going on now, but this is insane!

If the procedure was done without parental consent, isn’t it a criminal act??

I don’t know why anyone would ever even continue to send their children to a government school.

Government schools are no place for a child.

How awful! Government is continually trying to remove the parents from the equation.

True, and when parents send their children off to gov't school, they willingly submit to the coup.

I’m a product of public schools and turned out exceptionally well. But it’s no longer the same. If I had kids or step kids and they weren’t in private school, I’d homeschool in a heartbeat.

Ditto. And I now homeschool my kids.

You would think.

I know that in NYS a parent cannot even send OTC medicine to school with their child.

Even something like Advil or Motrin require a doctor’s
note.

And I certainly could not take the neighborhood kids to a clinic and have medical procedures done on them.

They can’t even get their ears pierced without parental permission.

This is wrong on so many levels.

Definition of Upside World:

A 12 year old ( or younger) is mature enough to choose a competent abortionist but her parents are too stupid to use a school voucher wisely.

Since its impossible to do a double blind study on you, it's impossible to know what your life might have been like if you had been homeschooled.

Maybe if you had been homeschooled you would have been like our Founding Fathers and attending college at the age of 13 or 14. Maybe you would have had the time to truly excel in more than musical instrument, art, or dance, and a sport or two. Maybe you would have been and inventor and businessman like Edison by the age of 15.

True; however, those things notwithstanding, I still think I turned out quite well. I’m successful in many things and my parents are proud of the woman I am. I would not have given up the joy of my childhood to take on college at 13/14 or being a businesswoman at 15. While I say “good job” for those who have such accomplishment, I was happy to be riding horses or dirt bikes, enjoying my artistic endeavors and burying myself in books. Could I have been better than I am with homeschooling? Possibly. But it’s not something I have to worry about now :)
