A family in Pollock Pines say a mountain lion invaded their home.
It took police about half an hour to arrive to the rural Pollock Pines home. The family says when police arrived the big cat was gone.
The mountain lion did manage to jump on the counter where dinner was being made, break several dishes, turn the water faucet on, and scare away the family cats before making its exit.

I believe the ban was voted in as a voter initiative. “Those bad hunters are killing these beautiful symbols of wild California” or some such emotional nonsense. So now the cats occasionally prey on pets or unlucky humans. For some reason women and children compute in the cat’s brain as “food” and adult men, not so much.
A few years ago a woman was killed and partially eaten in the San Diego area. The cat was tracked and killed. People in the neighborhood immediately began a collection—for the lion’s cubs.
That might be the story I was thinking of but it happened back in 2010. Scary stuff!
No, the story says the dog was barking.
There has been a string of mountain lion attacks in the Denver foothills. The attacks have all been centered around Evergreen, Kittredge and the Bailey area.
the big cat has crouched outside the bedroom window of their 6-year-old son Schylure and stared at the boy.
Were scared out of our minds, Carrie Warner said. There is something very strange about the way this lion is hunting us. Im at the end of my rope.
The Warners are worried that, just as a boy was mauled by a mountain lion near a popular trail in Boulder about a month ago, their nightly tormentor will eventually attack their son or them.
The Warners have lived in their rental home for two years and have seen a mountain lion before, but never have they been stalked by the same lion night after night.

Sounds like it’s a rural area. Just shoot it and bury it. Nobody needs to know.
Having a lion walking on your roof or circling your home / staring in your windows .. for many days .. might get one’s attention.
Especially with youngers around.
Anyone who thinks loss of a pet is a joke needs to ESAD. Too bad it didn’t take the woman...probably a California rat.
YEAH! You’re the first one! :)
Very strange behavior for a Mountain Lion to enter a house with people in it.
I guess he just could not resist the midnight snack.
They have been known to take small children off the playground at school, again very rare.
200lbs of death. They can climb a tree with a deer in its jaws.
I wouldn’t put up with days of it. One way or the other I would put an end to the threat. I’ve thought about getting some 12 ga. rubber bullet shells or bean bag rounds to non-lethally discourage any bears that wander up to my house.
“Next time, someone else might be the meal.”
That cat will return to that house.
“Whats a good defense against mountain lions in suburban California, if hiking, etc... in these areas?”

one lucky woman, could have just as easily been her, or her child!
If you can’t have a gun see if bear spray is legal for your area.
They had left the bedrooms French doors partially open to let the dog out.

Looks like that worked. But I guess they were also thinking the dog would return later.
Just great! Now I’m hungry for one of them, ‘Portuguese Podengo’ sandwiches...
But seriously, I would be devastated if that happened to one of my dogs. :(

Of all people, Berke Breathed started a hoax rumor in centex 25yrs ago that an alligator had been spotted in Lake Travis which resulted in a boycott and hunting teams dispatched until it was debunked.
