If she asks for money to pay hospital expenses and uses that money for an unrelated expense, she could be charged with fraud. Depending on the dollar amount, it could be a felony. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Nowhere on her GoFundMe page does it say the money is being used for medical bills. It specifically says she's setting up an activist organization. In fact, she says her medical and legal bills are taken care of.

Now she is apparently committing fraud. No different than a person that tries to collect money for cancer when they don’t have it.
