I remember about 35 years ago or so Dave Winfield hit a bird with a between innings warm up throw. Might be it.

I was at the game and take some, probably undeserved, credit for him being charged.
Reminded the cops that The Rule of Law applies to everyone.
It all worked out well though, 9 years later he became a Blue Jay and a fan favorite
