never got the Puerto rico thing....So if the want to be independent.. let them.. we dont want them... it the people in puerto rico that vote to stay...let the revolutionaries in Puerto Rico blow up their own people that’s the problem

The Democrats always planned for Puerto Rico to become a state so they could get two more seats in the U.S. Senate.

The Republicans should want Puerto Rico independent—but they don’t—the stupid party in action.

The difficulty is that independence means foregoing the generous welfare benefits doled out by the US government, so Puerto Rican nationalist movements talk a big game, but never get any traction as the people refuse to give up the benefits and subsidies. Puerto Rico’s economy is in shambles.
