Interesting. According to wiki, the island was part of the original land grant made to the Plymouth Company, by James I of England in 1620. Later purchased by a Nathaniel Sylvester (an English merchant) who did have Dutch roots, having been born in Rotterdam.

Yes! I saw a sign that said his name Nathaniel Sylvester. I though that was a strange name for Dutch. It was wild though, I asked one of the girls how long her family had been living there and without batting as eye she said “Oh about 350 years” I thought she was kidding but she wasnt, and told me her anscestors dealt in sugar cane. She was really hot looking to, pure blond and pale blue eyes. I don’t if there is any inbreeding that went on there but it was strange how almost all of them were pure blonde, it reminded me of a Star Trek episode.
