As the name states, Conservatism is about CONSERVING the founding values of this country which all revolve around FREEDOM AND SELF DETERMINATION — free from big, oppressive government control. It all started that way and TRUE conservative thinkers want it that way for the country and its REAL citizens.
The opposing force which is loosely refered to as "liberalism", seeks to destroy that right to freedom, for power and control over freedom and liberty, that so many have fought and died for over 200 years. There is nothing complicated about it. Conservatism is NOT DEAD by any warped stretch of the imagination and there are still many that fight to keep that part of our culture alive and well.
