I believe they are not. One cannot be a conservative and also advocate for policies that destroy a nation.

Academic poseurs, indoctrinated into a globalist premise by the scare tactics that followed World War II, are neither conservative nor completely coherent. (I think you are unfair to link Cruz with them. I have not followed Mark Levin enough to comment intelligently.)
