Hank Williams Jr. will be bringing his rowdy friends back to ESPN on Monday nights this fall.
Williams will debut a new version of "All My Rowdy Friends," featuring its "Are you ready for some football?" catchphrase, before the first Monday night game of the season, between the New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings in Minneapolis on Sept. 11.
ESPN pulled the song midseason in 2011, following controversial comments made by Williams on Fox News that compared then-President Barack Obama golfing with then-Rep. House Speaker John Boehner to a meeting of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Adolf Hitler. Williams also called Obama and Joe Biden "the enemy."
The original Williams song had been on Monday Night Football broadcasts since 1989.

Twitter already exploding in rage....................
Like Hank. Love Tebow.
Note to the NFL: Nice try, though.
Don’t you KNOW Hank made them pay BIG!
One more note to the NFL: I’ve been NFL-free for 2 years. It was easier than I thought. And there IS life after professional football viewership! Who’d’a thunk it!
Take it off ESPN, put it back on ABC, instead of that insufferable piece of crap show ‘The Bachelor/Bachelorette’..............
Hope so!..................
This is stunt casting. The NFL is throwing former viewers a bone. It’ll be interesting to see if it works.
Too little, too late.
Pro football is over. The safety rules, the commercial timeouts, and the 4 times a week thing did it in. Give me back Gary Fencik and Doug Plank or Dick Butkus or Ray Nitschke. Its not football any more.
They don’t realize the problem is ESPN, not the intro...................
Proves what a friend told me about her friend who did TV news. He said the media was holding Obama up for 8 years and started laying people off as soon as Hillary lost. He admits he was a fool for 8 years.
Now even ESPN is trying to act like they’re charging.
I’ll watch just for the song and then I’ll change the channel.
Charging - changing
Plus, the Monday Night games are usually dogs.
I won’t go back to watching the NFL, but it is amusing to see them crawl like this.
They know exactly what the problem is. Which is why they’re not dealing with it. Hence this toro excretio.
No offense, Mr. Williams, Jr.
Heck I love Williams opening song...WILL DEFINITELY tune in just for that and tune out after the intro!! I hate what ESPN have become...leftist turds!!!
I’ll just play the old version on YouTube.
I keep taking baby steps away. My husband isn’t quite ready to give it up.
