That said, I was out shopping with my daughter this weekend and she wanted some Wendy's, so we went into the drive-through. After five minutes of statis, we decided to go inside.
Still a study in paralysis. There appeared to only be three employees -- one at the counter, one at the drive-up window, and one cooking. Only one car in the line, and three customers, including us.
After five more minutes of watching these drones slowly stumble about, she looked at me and said, "Dad, this is too painful to watch. I don't feel hungry any more." I agreed and we left.
I was reminded of the scene in 'Zootopia' where the DMV is run entirely by sloths.
I think everyone would be surprised at the local Wendy’s near my parents’ (my first job, actually).
For years, we could not trust them - to be timely, OR get things right. If we did drive-thru I insisted checking the items forward a bit of the window. Yes, almost always, something wrong. Which is why I always wanted to go INSIDE so it was much easier to check and complain.
They were populated by border-south types.
Then, a couple years ago, a wholesale change happened. Noticed the people changed more to the urban type. And yes, service IMPROVED!
This may seem backwards but in our case, it’s true. Guess the border-south people just couldn’t understand the language (and often neither could we).
Oh, but none of this compares to the perpetually abysmal (25 years) KFC near us.
Good move to leave. Employees who don’t give a damn about service are unlikely to care about food hygiene, either.
