FULL TITLE: Crack-addicted grandmother, 49, goes back to prison for repeatedly violating conditions of her release less than a year after President Obama commuted her life sentence
A grandmother in Texas has been ordered back to prison after violating the terms of her release in a commutation of her sentence by former President Obama.
Carol Denise Richardson, 49, has been ordered back to prison for 14 months by a Houston judge after being arrested on a theft charge in April, violating the terms of her early release.
Richardson had been released from prison in July of last year after serving 10 years of a life sentence for conspiracy to distribute cocaine, as one of 61 non-violent drug offenders to have their sentence commuted by Obama.
'This defendant was literally given a second chance to become a productive member of society and has wasted it,' Assistant US Attorney Ted Imperato said in a statement.
'She has clearly shown a willful disregard for the law and must face the consequences for her crimes and actions.'

That's right, the "system" keeps failing a woman who can't or won't stop smoking crack. I actually am receptive to the idea that there should be separate prisons for drug addicts where they, in effect, are in a long term, enforced rehab. But saying that the system "failed" this woman is laughable.
But...nut...drug dealing is a victimless crime. Reminds me of the heavy criticism Mayor Guliani received when he cracked down on the squeegee guys. Well it turned out most of them had outstanding warrants. Most for serious offenses including murder in quite a few cases

Well, hard to have sympathy. Obama literally gave her a 2nd chance at life, and she is throwing it away. She gets what she deserves. And now Obama can’t save her sorry butt.

Dealing drugs deserves to be treated harshly
Once a convict, always a convict. There may be exceptions to the rule, but very few. Probation/parole officers are overworked and carry a high caseload. A lot of the convicts Hussein put back on the streets will stay free not because they learned their lesson, but because they won’t get caught.
