Marian Hossa won’t play next season, or maybe ever again.
I feel bad for him. At 38 it’s not going to be easy to sit out a year and then try to come back.
Call me cynical, but I’m suspicious of that whole story. It reeks of a salary cap circumvention strategy similar to the Chris Pronger charade.
You are actually not the first person that I’ve seen suggesting that.
Torts (I think Babcock will win)
Matthews - superb rookie class. Matt Murray should win because of the back to back Stanley Cups but this is a regular season award. Matthews is the best young star to my eyes.
Burns (all the Canadian voters will pick Karlsson)
McDavid (should be Crosby but McDavid is the next great Canadian hope)
Vezina would have been a lock for Bob if he hadn’t sucked in the short series against the Pens. Now it will probably go to Holtby.
I’m 0 for 2 so far.
Torts did good with the Jackets this year, but I also think it will go to Babcock.
Johnny G. because I coached his cousins and go to deer camp with the dad.
The votes for the trophy winners are actually submitted at the end of the regular season every year, and the winners are announced at the awards ceremony after the playoffs end.
2 out of 4 so far.

“The very first professional sport to have a team in Las Vegas!”
With horribly constructed seating in the upper deck. Aside from that, rumor (may be fact now) is that the Ginger Ninja Cody Eakin from my Stars is heading there. As luck has it, we will be their first opponent. Go Stars! Oh they are welcome to either of our unprotected goaltenders.
Didn’t know I’d be crying tonight! Bravo to Craig Anderson for winning the Masterson trophy, well deserved.
For the Avs, we lost Pickard which was bad. I thought the GKs would take Fleury.
Allergic to his equipment. You’d think there would be something doable like wearing some layer in between.
