I'd be the first person in line to say that it's a shame that Catholics are not always and everywhere in he forefront of opposition to abortion. We're the pro-life Church as of 1st century AD, and "of those to whom much has been given, much will be expected."

However, I don't see how abortion in New Mexico can be characterized as, particularly, the Catholics' responsibility, as you implied in your comment.

The following is the religious composition of New Mexico, according to a 2017 Pew Research Center survey:

Protestant 38%

Catholic 34%

Mormon 2%

Other Christian 1%

Non-Christian faiths 4%

Unaffiliated 21%

In the Christians acted like Christians, there would be no abortion in New Mexico.

But they don't.

That's the problem.
