Hamilton creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda released a politically-charged video this week for the song “Immigrants” from The Hamilton Mixtape, which is based on music from the popular Broadway show.
The 6-minute dramatic visual opens with a group of immigrants listening to a radio report about the U.S. Congress’s legislative debate over border security and immigration reform. “It’s really astonishing that in a country founded by immigrants, ‘immigrant’ has somehow become a bad word,'” the reporter says.
As each rapper recites their lyrics, scenes of refugees and immigrants doing various jobs are intermingled throughout.
The video features contributions from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story actor Riz Ahmed as well as rappers K’Naan and Snow Tha Product.
“This election cycle has brought xenophobia and vilification of immigrants back to the forefront of US politics,” Miranda wrote in a post on the website Genius. “This is a musical counterweight.”

Zero respect here for Miranda. I always just find it sad that people have to insert minorities into stories of greatness, when the actual great people were white. Pretending importance? I am also gobsmacked by the number of people who eat up the stories.....but then they are sheeple who still believe Big Media. A while back, we saw the movie Hidden Figures. A really inspiring story about some black women who were instrumental in the early Space program. I was reading a review of the movie in the Daily Telegraph (UK) where the truth came out about one of the more disturbing things the main character had to endure. In the movie, we saw her, several times, running back to her old building on the NASA campus, because she had to use the restroom and there weren’t any ‘colored’ restrooms in the main building. Quoted in the review, from a newspaper in Britain, the author admitted that the main character ‘used any restroom she wanted’ while working for NASA. Appalling and the political injection of racism where there was none. I do not feel sorry for Liberals or Big Media.....they are committing suicide.

My wife is an immigrant. A LEGAL immigrant. Lots of paperwork. Background checks. Time requirements. Etc. She speaks English and has her BSN and works as a nurse. Over the last 30 years, she has encountered ONE anti-immigrant rant...from a (probably) gay Chinese guy. He told her to go back to...well, the wrong continent.
I haven’t met anyone opposed to all immigration. Just unrestricted immigration of people who either want a handout or want to kill Americans.
This guy has a chip on his shoulder the size of Mt Rushmore.
No wonder Hollywierd is giving Miranda a Star on the Walk of Fame.
